A MAGICAL NIGHT WALK/RUN YOU’LL REMEMBER!
A course to remember, streams, waterfalls, nikau groves, epic views and glow worms if you’re lucky. There’ll be music and lights to energise you as you power up to Colonial Knob for sunset, then cruise or zoom down a glorious gradual track back to the music and lights at Camp Elsdon- where you can finish and enjoy the music or do more laps. It’s not a race, just do it for the awesome experience or #glow4good by supporting a cause to make a difference.

Walk or run the distance that suits – 1,2 or 3 laps of an 8 km course through native bush to a scenic lookout, in the beautiful Colonial Knob /Rangituhi Reserve in Porirua, easy to get to from anywhere in the region, just 20 mins from Wellington. Google maps.
Entry options: Charity place, Own place, Biz team.
Charity Place – fundraise for a partner charity and get a discounted registration fee from $35, then agree to a “minimum amount” you’ll raise with them.
Own place – you’ll pay the standard fee from $65, then you can opt to ‘just do it’ – no fundraising, or support any cause you care about by fundraising or making a donation.

- Business team – want to pay by invoice as a Bus team. Team members can do any distance and choose whether to fundraise for a charity or not.

The start and finish line is at Camp Elsdon, which will be transformed for the night with neon, music and lights.
The course is very sheltered, through beautiful native bush, and the track is well formed and all off road.
You will rock up the challenging Colonial Knob walkway to stunning views at the lookout, (an elevation of 400m) then walk, run or boogie down the beautifully graded zig zag Te Ara Utiwai track- (this is currently closed for track maintenance to make it beautiful for the event). Although you can still go up the steps section to the lookout, returning via the steps or the 4WD track.
Registration is on Saturday between 4.30pm and 6pm at Camp Elsdon – please ensure you register at least 30mins before your start time
•Warm up with Melissa Moon 5.30 – 5.45
Dusk option – 8km walk/run – No lights required – start 5.45pm – for those who prefer to walk in daylight – allowing 2 hours to do one loop.
• Night options – Lights required, (Sunset 7.40pm)
6.00 pm -start of 16 km Walk – lights required
6.15pm – start of 16/24 km Run – lights required
6.35pm – start of 8km night walk – lights required
7.15 – start 8km run – lights required
Cut off times
16km walk – walkers doing 2 loops will need to have started their 2nd loop by 8pm
Runners – doing 2 loops will have to start their 2nd loop by 8.30pm and those doing 3 loops start their 3rd by 8.40pm
Course will close at 10.00pm (due to noise restrictions)
All walkers must have left the top by 8.45pm. Runners by 9.20pm
The track itself is not illuminated – all participants doing ‘night options’ must wear either a headlamp or have a good handheld flashlight. Good torches do a great job of lighting up the track. A backup light source is strongly recommended, in case your main light dies during the event.
First Aid will be based at Camp Elsdon and marshals on the course.

8km – participants must be 10 years or older
16km – participants must be 14 years or over
24km – participants must 16 years or over
All children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Business team entries of 4+
If you can convince your boss to shout the entry fees, or a percentage of them, we can invoice your organisation. Payment needs to be received before your entry can be confirmed, at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

If you entered with a Charity Partner you will need discuss your withdrawal with them. Refunds will incur a $15.00 administration fee.
There will be no refunds within 7 days of the event. In the case of a natural disaster, closure of the forest due to high winds or other uncontrollable factors, “Act of God” conditions causing the cancellation of the event, entry fees will not be refunded.
Transfers to another person cannot be made. No transfers to other events or future years are permitted.

Transport and Parking
There is no parking permitted within the venue. Please park on the road.
We encourage people to car pool, it helps save our planet and reduces congestion. Better yet, take public transport.
If you’re from out of town and want to collapse after your efforts and wake up to the thrill of native bird song! Camp Elsdon has a variety of options, from lodge rooms and cabins to dormitories and campervan or tent sites.

ZERO Waste Policy
We are committed to zero waste so leave no trace!
To reduce waste tap water will be available but participants need to bring their own water bottles.
Please leave the tracks in beautiful condition so don’t drop litter and take home all your own rubbish and recycle.
